Service Description: These data are derived from Northeast Fisheries Science Center trawl survey data and represent areas of overlap in high biomass across five decades (1970s through 2010s) for fish species groups. The number of overlapping species is shown.
Demersal species include Acadian redfish, American plaice, Atlantic cod, Atlantic halibut, Atlantic Wolffish, Barndoor skate, Black sea bass, Clearnose skate, Cunner, Fourspot flounder, Goosefish, Haddock, Little skate, Longhorn sculpin, Ocean pout, Offshore hake, Pollock, Red hake, Rosette skate, Scup, Sea raven, Silver hake, Smooth skate, Spotted hake, Summer flounder, Tautog, Thorny skate, White hake, Windowpane, Winter flounder, Witch flounder, and Yellowtail flounder.
Forage species include Alewife, American shad, Atlantic herring, Atlantic mackerel, Atlantic menhaden, Bay anchovy, Blueback herring, Butterfish, Hickory shad, Round herring, Sand lance, and Striped anchovy.
