Service Description: These data represent RUWRF average seasonal wind speed (m/s) at 10 meter and 160 meter heights above surface for the years 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022.
The Rutgers University Center for Ocean Observing Leadership runs a daily real-time version of the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF v4.1.2) model, also known as RUWRF. This model runs a parent nest at 9 km resolution out to 120 hours and a child nest at 3 km resolution out to 48 hours. It is run daily following the availability of the 00Z cycle of the Global Forecast System (GFS).
