Service Description: The Coast Guard is considering establishment of shipping safety fairways on the Atlantic Coast of the United States identified in 85 FR 37034, USCG-2019-0279, Shipping Safety Fairways Along the Atlantic Coast (AKA “ACPARS Fairways”). This potential system of fairways is intended to ensure that traditional navigation routes are kept free from obstructions that could impact navigation safety.
As a follow up action to the ACPARS Coast Guard District 1 and District5 are conducting supplementary Port Access Route studies to consider how the proposals should interact with existing vessel routing measures. This feature shows the areas of study for those supplemental studies.
